Music for Silent Films in New Orleans

While in New Orleans to record as The Lepers of Melancholy at Grant Curry's Music For Chameleons studio in southeast Louisiana, we will be performing our Music For Silent Films event on August 8 at 10:30pm at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center (details below).

The program includes three films by New Orleans film makers - Tom & Marta (who are now located in L.A.), Ruby Quincunx Pictures, and Aurora Neeland (who spends her time in NYC as well as New Orleans). Rene Broussard has run Zeitgeist for 20 years which blows my mind. His programming is incredible. When I lived in New Orleans I hosted two concert events at Rene's theater - so returning there post-Katrina is, for me, something special.

Above you can check out Ruby's The Illogic Of A Dream Had Taken Over Completely which we showed at Live With Animals last weekend. We'll screen it again at Zeitgeist (my favorite quote after we played to this film in NYC came from Flip directed at me: "You thought THAT was a QUIET film???").

Listening...

Craig Ogden - The Blue Guitar, 20th Century Guitar Classics
Andres Segovia - The Art of Segovia
Rain, Tree, Crow
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Dig! Lazarus! Dig!!!
The Residents - The Eskimo Album
William Parker Quartet - Sound Unity, Raining On The Moon
